things to watch out for in a design/tattoo

if you're thinking of getting a tattoo yourself...than i have a few tips to look for when choosing a design for your tattoo:

1- Colour or black and white?--> potraits look better in black/white (usually), it gives it a bit of nostalgy feel and like it's a piece of art. but flowers, animals, demons,.... usually look better in colour.

2-depth (the 3D effect), watch for shadows which makes the tattoo look 3D, good shading is very important to give it that 3D look, with colour tattoos a bit of white makes the tattoo shine (like on the petals of a rose, or in water, ity makes it glow).

3-location--> where are you going to get it? look at the shape of the tattoo and make sure it flows with your "curves".

4-size--> i often say that most people tend to regret getting a little tattoo than a big one (so think twice before getting your astrological sign,a little butterfly or tiny tribals...). most people will tend to want to expand the tattoo after a few years with something else, then it usually doesn't fit with the first tattoo and will end up looking bad.

5- Don't follow "tattoo trends"! trust me you will seriously regret getting that tramp stamp or that big tribal on your back, especially if it's an impulsive decision. don't do it because it 's trendy and everybody has one, do it because it means something to you.

6- Don't listen to the friend/boyfriend/girlfriend advice! it's your body so don't let anyone influence your taste. you pick your tattoo design and don't change it for anyone (peer pressure).

7- and at last--> no names or initials! unless it's family. boys/girls will come and go, your tattoo won't.
